² To ^(A)Timothy, ^(B)my true child in the faith: ^(C)Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and ^(D)Christ Jesus our Lord.

³ As I urged you ^[a]upon my departure for ^(E)Macedonia, ^[b]remain on at ^(F)Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to ^(G)teach strange doctrines, ⁴ nor to ^[c]pay attention to ^(H)myths and endless ^(I)genealogies, which give rise to mere ^(J)speculation rather than ^(K)furthering ^[d]the administration of God which is by faith.
